Terms & Conditions

Booking & Reservation Policy

In an effort to ensure as many of you as possible get into our classes and continue to enjoy the reservation of your mat, we have made some changes to our Booking Policy:-

  • You may cancel a class reservation up to 4 hours before the class start time FREE of charge. (This time has increased from 30 minutes)
  • You may late cancel your mat reservation within the 4 hour window and up to the class start time, however to maintain this level of service, if you late cancel 3 times within a week, our system will apply a $10 booking fee to your account
  • If we don't have your account details, the system will pause your account and apply a $10 booking fee. You may pay the booking fee via email request or at the studio at any time. Once you have paid the booking fee your reservation functionality will be restored.
  • To reserve a class regardless of whether you attend or not, our system will apply a $15 reservation fee. The reservation fee will ONLY be applied if you reserve a mat and then DON'T arrive for the scheduled class
  • Considering the above changes to our booking policies, please ensure that you are checked in at reception prior to each class (especially when you attend back to back classes).
  • For Class Pack's, you will forfeit your booked class when you late cancel or for non-attendance
  • In addition to these booking changes, we have also improved the following procedures:-
Meet Your Mat Early:
  • We all get held up in the hustle of the CBD sometimes, however entering the classroom late can disrupt other students. It is for this reason that we will now be locking classroom doors strictly after the scheduled start time. If you are running a few minutes late, please notify our reception staff and they will do their best to fit you into the next class.
Mobile Free Zone:
  • Our classrooms are a space where students can wind down. The sound of a notification, a photograph being taken or even just the sight of a phone can be disruptive. It is for this reason that we request you leave mobile phones in the lockers provided and enjoy switching off for an hour or so…
Savasana:
  • Balancing a busy schedule and yoga can be difficult, however we believe dedication is key to growth and transformation. That's why our teachers carefully plan each class to try and give you the best overall experience. We promise to finish on time, and ask that all students stay until the end of class.

Teacher Training Certification Requirements

  • I recognise that the Program has been designed to provide yoga education for students who are seeking to become a qualified yoga teacher and for those who wish to deepen their yoga practice without becoming a teacher.
  • The Program is intended to result in the completion of all hours specified for the training. If a student completes all hours (contact and non-contact) of training and successfully passes the Assessment requirements the student will be issued a certificate of teacher training from MOVE Yoga.
  • MOVE Yoga teacher trainings are registered with Yoga Alliance. Upon successful completion of the RYS200 & RYS300 program, the student will be eligible to apply for membership with Yoga Alliance.
  • We require 100 percent attendance. If you need to miss any session you must speak to the Faculty prior to the session and a catch up session will be agreed and arranged at the Faculties discretion. You are responsible for any course material missed.
  • In addition, all students must possess the skills and abilities necessary to safely and competently teach yoga, and a high level of emotional and mental stability and maturity. Full participation in and completion of all course components is mandatory for certification.
  • For those students who are pursuing certification, the Faculty reserves the right to withhold certification from any student who fails to develop and demonstrate the necessary skills, competencies, maturity and emotional stability necessary to safely and competently teach yoga. Any student denied certification has the right to seek the review of the Faculty. The Faculty will conduct a fair review of the situation and any determination of the Faculty will be final.
  • The student hereby agrees to waive and release any Released Party from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including, without limitation legal fees and expenses) suffered by you as a result of any misstatements made by you in this Agreement, your failure to disclose any physical or psychological condition which may impair your ability to complete the Program, your failure to complete the Program or any reason or your participation in the Program.
  • “Released Party” shall mean the Studio and its owners, agents, representatives, employees, independent contractors, workshop presenters and teachers.
  • Subject to meeting all of the requirements for certification described above, certification will be granted when all payments and fees have been fully received by the Program. The Studio does not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, or sexual preference.
Participation & Challenges:
  • I understand the Program has been designed to create the optimal yoga education for the majority of students. I recognise that this Program has been designed to provide yoga education for students who are pursing a yoga teaching qualification as well as those who wish to deepen their yoga practice.
  • During my participation in this Program, I am responsible for monitoring what is safe for me and I can stop my participation in any experience at any time. Although my attendance is required in each session to become certified as a yoga teacher, I recognise my responsibility to speak up or take myself out of an experience if I feel unsafe. I do not, and will not hold, any Released Party responsible for my physical and psychological well-being.
  • The Program recognises that the nature of yoga is to promote physical and psychological growth through which profound transformation can occur. It is your responsibility to do your best to uphold and foster a sacred, safe environment to foster transformation. It is important for you to possess a high degree of emotional maturity and personal integrity in order to serve and empower your students.
  • I understand that during the course of the Program, I will be challenged physically and encouraged to take personal risks. I understand that practicing yoga is often about exploring new boundaries and limitations and that no Released Party is responsible for any physical and psychological risks that I may choose to take in connection with my participation in the Program. I understand that the study of yoga involves exploring and discussing different religious, personal and belief systems. These belief systems may be different from my own. I understand that the Program is not requiring me to change my beliefs in any way.
Refunds:
  • The deposit and full course fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • I understand that I am entitled to no refunds, credits, or adjustments resulting from my failure to complete or satisfy the certification requirements or to comply with the Code of Ethics in the event I am certified.
  • I understand that the Studio is under no obligation to award any credit for past experience or training if I fail to complete the Program but may do so in the exercise of the sole discretion of the Teaching Faculty (the “Faculty”).

COVID-19 Policy for Training & Education

General:

  • Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice for Training Providers and Training Operations, trainees, students and staff (as directed by Department of Health & Services).
  • Education remains one of the essential reasons that Victorians may leave their premises, and there are a number of courses for which face to face instruction is required. TAFEs and other institutions will conduct a small number of lectures on campus where necessary, and best efforts to maintain physical distancing should be made.
  • If remote or online learning is not possible, best efforts to maintain physical distancing measures should be followed by staff and students undertaking face-to-face learning.
  • You should continue to attend training if lectures are still being conducted.
  • However, if lectures are available online, you should carefully consider whether you need to physically attend the campus. Avoid spending time in shared facilities such as communal areas. Collaborative assignments and team study projects should be done using online tools. Study at home.
  • If you have concerns about your placement, contact your programs@moveyoga.com.au in the first instance.
Face Masks:
  • Wearing a face mask protects you and your community by providing an additional physical barrier to coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Keeping 1.5 metres between yourself and others and washing your hands are still the best defences against coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • There are two types of face masks suitable for community use: cloth masks and surgical masks.
  • The recommendation to wear a face mask does not apply to children (people aged under 18 years), individuals with breathing difficulties, and those who have physical conditions that make it difficult to wear a face mask.
  • There will be no enforcement on the use of face masks. You will not be fined if you don’t wear one.
  • If you live in the Melbourne metropolitan area or Shire of Mitchell and are leaving home for one of the four reasons, you must wear a face mask such as a cloth mask or surgical mask if it is difficult to keep 1.5 metres apart from others.
  • For more information on all the information above please refer to https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
Training Remotely/Online Learning:
  • MOVE Yoga is committed to providing the most up-to-date information on COVID-19 from the direction of the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Australian Chief Medical Officer.
  • All training organisations are encouraged to increase their ability to deliver training remotely or online where possible. MOVE Yoga adopts this approach to support continuity of provision of training where there is existing capability and capacity.
  • We understand that this may be difficult for some courses. Where activities continue to happen on campus, it is recognised that physical distancing in some practical/hands-on teaching and learning spaces may not always be appropriate or practical, in this situation best efforts to maintain physical distancing should be made and other strategies to reduce risk of transmission emphasised (e.g. hand hygiene and cleaning).
  • Any staff who can work from home should now be working from home. If this is not possible, physical distancing advice should be strictly followed at all times.
International Travel:
  • From 11.59pm AEDT 28 March 2020, all travellers arriving in Australia will be required to undertake a mandatory 14-day quarantine at designated facilities (for example, a hotel), in their port of arrival.
  • This includes students and staff who may be returning from overseas excursions or other travel.
  • Should you have returned from travel, or have been in contact with anyone who has travelled overseas, please ensure that you have completed the 14 day quarantine period.
Physical Distancing:
  • There are still a number of actions that MOVE yoga is committed to help reduce the risk of transmission and slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Victorian community.
  • All staff, students and trainees are encouraged to look at the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) advice on 'physical distancing' which provides some great tips.
  • Physical distancing measures include non-contact greetings (no handshakes) and maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres between individuals where possible.
  • MOVE yoga requests that everyone to cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue, or cough into your elbow.
  • Dispose of the tissue into a bin and then wash your hands afterwards.
  • Wash your hands often, after using the toilet, and before eating. Health promotion materials are available to view on onsite.
  • If you have any COVID symptoms please do not attend and immediately contact MOVE yoga at programs@moveyoga.com.au.
  • MOVE yoga will be restricting access to the change rooms to a maximum of 4 people at only one time
Temperature Checks & Other Symptoms:
  • MOVE yoga will be conducting daily external body temperature checks, and will be directing staff members or students to leave the premise if high temperatures are detected. MOVE yoga will direct any staff members or students with signs of runny noise sore eyes or other flue like symptoms to lease the premise.
If a student or staff has had close contact with a confirmed case:
  • MOVE Yoga encourages good hygiene practices as this is the most effective way of minimising the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). If you have a ‘close contact’ event:
    • A confirmed case
    • Or you have been in close contact with a confirmed case.
  • Please contact MOVE Yoga at programs@moveyoga.com.au to discuss what to do next
  • Department of Health Services (DHS) defines 'close contact' as someone who has either:
    • had at least 15 minutes of face-to-face contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19)
    • shared a closed space for more than two hours with someone who is a confirmed case.
  • Unless you have experienced one of the two above categories, you do not need to take further action.
If there is a confirmed case at MOVE Yoga:
  • If there is a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19), MOVE Yoga undertakes contact tracing within their means to identify anyone who may have been in contact with the confirmed case. If you are impacted, you will be informed as soon as possible by MOVE Yoga.
Wellbeing:
  • As the nature of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic evolves and we continue to be more confined to our homes, health and wellbeing should be a priority for all of us. It's important that we continue to look out for ourselves, and for each other. The following organisations have web pages with advice on looking after your mental health:
  • Beyond Blue, Headspace, Black Dog Institute
Staying Safe:
  • As more of Victoria’s restrictions come into place and/or start to ease, we still need to stay vigilant. To keep yourself, your friends and your family safe there are three key actions that Victorians are being asked to continue to:
  • Stay at home and get tested if you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild.
  • Practise good hygiene – wash your hands and cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow.
  • Keep your distance – stay 1.5 metres away from anyone you don’t live with.
Wash Your Hands: Good hygiene is critical for slowing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Everyone should be taking the following hygiene actions:
  • Wash your hands regularly with for at least 20 seconds, using soap and water or use a hand sanitiser that contains at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Wash your hands when you get home, arrive at other people’s homes, at venues or at work.
  • Wash your hands after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, or using the toilet.
  • Wash your hands:
  • Don’t cough or sneeze into your hands:
  • Cover your nose or mouth with a tissue, then throw it away and wash your hands.
  • If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or upper sleeve.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Do not share drink bottles, glasses, crockery or cutlery other than with people you live with.
Further information :
  • For information on staying safe while caring for an unwell family member or loved one, see How to care for those in isolation or quarantine
  • For information for people who are elderly, have a chronic illness, who are immunocompromised, see About coronavirus.
Keep Your Distance - Stay 1.5m away
  • Greet people with a smile or wave - don’t shake hands, hug or kiss as a greeting.
  • Stay 1.5 metres away from people you don’t live with.
  • Avoid crowds, especially indoors.
  • When waiting in line or walking through busy areas, be patient, give others space so they can give you yours.
Stay Healthy:
  • Keep eating a balanced diet.
  • Get regular exercise and sleep.
  • Reduce your alcohol intake.
  • If you’re a smoker, think about and try quitting. Call the Quitline on 137848.
  • Get vaccinated for flu (influenza). This will help reduce the demand on the healthcare system as it deals with coronavirus (COVID-19). Vaccines are now available from your GP and pharmacy.
Stay Connec ted and Support Each Other:
  • It is important to keep connected as a community, even while physically distancing. You can support your friends and family by continuing these key actions:
  • If you or a loved one is feeling anxious or concerned at this time, help and support is available.
  • Where possible, keep connected to your family, friends and work colleagues through video conferencing, phone, email and social media.
  • Look out for your neighbours and family members.
  • Stay informed. Seek information from reputable sources, for example the coronavirus (COVID-19) section on this site.
Cleaning:
  • Cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces regularly (for example phones, keyboards, door handles, light switches, bench tops) can help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • First step is cleaning, which means wiping dirt and germs off a surface. You can use common household detergent products stocked at supermarkets for cleaning.
  • Second step is to disinfect the surface. Supermarkets stock common household disinfection products – it is important to use products that are labelled "disinfectant" and to follow the instructions on the label.

COVID-19 Hotline:
  • If you suspect you may have coronavirus (COVID-19) call the dedicated hotline – open 24 hours, 7 days. Please keep Triple Zero (000) for emergencies only. The Chief Health Officer recommends that adults living in the Melbourne metropolitan area or Mitchell Shire wear a face mask when outside your home if it is difficult to keep 1.5 metres apart from other people.
